David Celebrates the 2016 MLS MVP with the DV7 Team

The entire DV7 team was on hand to see David Villa named Landon Donovan 2016 MLS MVP, following a season in which he scored 23 goals and four assists, finishing second in the MLS Golden Boot and helping lead NYCFC to their first MLS Cup Playoffs berth. He was also named to the 2016 MLS Best XI.

David’s 41 goals in MLS regular season play are tied for most over the past two seasons.

The first player signed by NYCFC, David becomes the first player from the club to win any MLS individual end-of-season award, including MVP, and also the first World Cup winner and Spaniard to win MLS MVP. The award was voted on by MLS club management, media, and current MLS players.
